Sustaining Sabbath Though it is cliche to say so, we live in a culture that only continues to accelerate. Our lives are marked and evaluated by pace and productivity, and the only thing constant is the rapid rate of change. How does the way and life of Jesus inform us about living in the midst of such a rapid-fire culture? In what ways can we find places in our lives for our souls to be sustained, for the continuing work of God in the world to be recognized and celebrated? These questions beckon us to consider Sabbath keeping as a holistic way of life, and perhaps the only way to faithfully exemplify the abundant life of which we speak. bio: Danielle Shroyer is Pastor of Journey Community Church in Dallas, Texas (www.journeydallas.com).
